There are always new hunters out there and don't know much about blinds or know what to look for in a ground blind. No worries, here is a list of some of the things to look for when choosing a ground blind. Remember you are looking for you not other hunters. You need to choose a blind that works best for you. First, there are many different ground blind designs but the most common are the portable blinds and pop-up blinds. The portable blinds often open from the top for easy hunting access. They are easy to move, so you aren't stuck out there in your blind when the hunt slows down. The pop-up blinds are lightweight that "pop" open when you need it and fold back up for easy storage. You will need to decide what blind fits you needs the best. Second, you want to choose a blind that offers the most visibility. The more advanced blinds offer a 360 degree visibility, as where you can see every angel out of the blind. You won't have the worry of your game walking up on you and seeing you before you see them. Some of the new models have where you can cover the windows you don't need and still see out out of them and that's nice to have the option. Some of the cheaper models only have a few windows where you can't get the 360 degree visibility. But again that chose is your's on how much visibility you want. Third, having a blind that has a scent trap in it, is what you want. Not sure what a scent trap is, well it shields your scent from animals. If an animal detects you it might steer them away or use caution. Most of the newer blind models have this built into them. It's the carbon lining in the blind that traps your scent inside the blind. This chose you probably don't want to skip on especially if you are going to use the blind for turkey or deer hunting. Fourth, you need to decide on how big of blind you want. Most blinds range from one person to four people so it will all depend on how many people will be hunting out of it or if you just want some extra room. Most hunters will chose a two person blind, they have plenty of room to move around and still have room for their gear, like a camera and tripod. Just remember the bigger the blind the more expensive it is. This one won't be a hard chose since you already have an idea on how many people you will be hunting with, if any. At last, you want to know what kind of terrain you will be hunting in. You want to choose a blind that will blend well into your surroundings. That's the last thing you need is to be sticking out like a sore thumb cause you didn't think about blending into your surroundings. The blinds come in two different terrains wooded or grassy which makes your choice pretty easy as to where you will be hunting. This choice won't have you stressing out about making the right choice or it this is something you need in your blind. Even though there are a lot of things to look for when looking at ground blinds, just remember to chose the one that is going to work with your needs. Honestly most ground blinds have everything you need, plus more. So choosing the right one will be easy. As always Good Luck hunting and stay safe.
